Espacio absoluto explores the cello as a landscape of memory, resonance, and transformation, where fragmented melodies, crystalline harmonics, rich double stops, and abstract textures continuously reshape the listening experience. Across its nine works, the music moves between intimate lyricism and expansive, otherworldly environments, drawing on the cello’s full sonic range from delicate harmonics to its deepest register. Repeated bow gestures, ricochets, pizzicati, glissandi, trills, and multiphonics become elements of an evolving sonic vocabulary, gradually transforming simple gestures into dense and resonant textures. The pieces evoke imagined landscapes that feel at once subterranean, aquatic, and extraterrestrial, with moments of kinetic energy emerging from expansive and suspended spaces. Throughout the album, melodic fragments appear and dissolve within shifting textures, creating a sense of movement in which memory, sound, and space remain in constant transformation.
